Prof.Dr. Roland MEFFERT


The Hononary president of the Meffert İmplant Instıtute is Dr Roland Meffert ,Clinical Professor in the Dept.of Periodontics with a cross-appointment in the Dept.of Prosthodontics ,University of Texas Health Science Center ,San Antonio,Texas.He is a port Director and Chairman of the American Board of Periodontology ,a Fellow of the American Colloge of Dentists.the Internatıonal Colloge of Dentıstry ,and the American Academy of Periodontogy.He is Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Internatıonal Congress of Oral Implantologısts,the American Society of Osseointegration and Charmain of the Board of the American Society of Osseointegration .He is also Past –President of the ICOI (Internatıonal Congress of Oral Implantologısts)and the (American Society of Osseointegration)

He was also Past-Charmain of the Periodontics Section of the American Association of Dental schools(AADS) , Past – President of the European Associattion of Millitary Periodontists and Past -President of the Southwest Society of Periodontists.

Dr . Meffert is Editor-Emeritus of the JAURNAL OF PRACTICAL PERIDONTICS AND AESTHETIC DENTISTRY ,Co-Editor of Implant Dentıstry ,and as reviewer for the INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF PERIODONTICS AND RESTORATIVE DENTISTRY and the JOURNAL OF PERİODONTOLOGY.

Dr.Meffert is actively involved as Co-Director of the PRECEPTORSHIP IN DENTAL IMPLANTOLOGY AT THE Unıversty of Texas Health Science Center,San Antonio ,Texas and has been involved wıth clınıcal resarch on various implant ststems and grafting materials,technigues for the past 30 years .Heis the primary or secondary author in over 70 refereed articles and 11 chapters in texbooks ,both here and ınternatıonally ,on grafting and Implantology-related topics.

In june 1997 ,adental clinic in the city of Ankara ,the capital of Turkey was named as the Meffert İmplant İnstitute ,Meffert being the academic / clinic contributor and the financal sponsor Dr Meffert ‘s dedication to his proffesion was recognized by Dr Ali Arif Ozzeybek of Turkey ,director of the Clinic ,who was instrumental in naming the cinic and presided at the dedication ceremonies.

In september 1998 ,Ankara will host the Meffert international Implant symposium ,with dr Meffert as the honorary president .The symposium will focus on ınternatıonal case selections and Implant technology, including surgical and restorantive aspects.
